Gospel battles to final at MoneyConf 2018
Gospel Technology reached the final of the MoneyConf PITCH startup battle 2018, making it to the last three from 100+ applicants in what proved to be a hectic couple of days in Dublin. Gospel’s unique application of blockchain for data security and trust struck a real chord with fintech professionals gathered at this fast growing annual event.
What is MoneyConf?
Every year since 2015, the world’s leading bitcoin, cryptocurrency and fintech experts have gathered at MoneyConf. It is organised by the team behind the world’s largest tech conference, Web Summit, which has grown to become the “best technology conference on the planet”, according to Forbes Magazine.
Over two days, 5,000+ attendees from over 60 countries network and learn from the industry’s leading lights, via insightful keynotes, hands-on workshops and a host of interactive events.
PITCH – The startup battle
Gospel Technology decided to try our luck in the startup battle at this years event. PITCH is the competition at MoneyConf that brings together the world’s leading early-stage startups for a live on-stage battle. Out of 100+ applications Gospel were chosen to be one of the 21 invited to Dublin to present in front of distinguished investor panels, influential media, and global partners. Our very own Liam Jones managed to make it all the way to the final three! You can see his semi-final pitch here.

Competition was stiff, and congratulations go to the eventual winner Railsbank and to Fractal Labs, who were the other finalist chosen. Considering Gospel is not a cryptocurrency or a token based offer ,which has a large connection with the fintech blockchain community, the judges over the two days were impressed with the potential power of our enterprise solution to effect many industries and certainly many areas within the finance sector. The need for trusted data is not discriminatory!
A community embracing technology
MoneyConf itself was all over Blockchain this year, as bankers and financiers come to terms with the technology and sound-board use cases around distributed ledger technologies. Roughly half of the startups featured by MoneyConf were utilising blockchain as part of their solution, although Gospel were the only enterprise flavour and one of the only companies to have a live platform.
We had some extremely enthusiastic conversations around our display stand and at various interactive events – many around Blockchain for security and compliance. RegTech is a theme that has run strong through such conferences over the last few years as regulations continue to proliferate and show no sign of slowing. Compliance and PSD2 forms a strong part of what our solution can help enable.

Our next event will be at Blockchain EXPO Europe in Amsterdam in two weeks time, where we’re also shortlisted for a Blocks award! Onwards and upwards as they say – maybe we’ll see you there!
